On the Algarve - Tavira, Portugal

I’m engaged in a painting project to present my impressions of the Iberian Peninsula, based on images I’ve collected during my travels in Portugal snd Spain. I’m particularly attracted to the geometric arrangement of forms in the Old Town districts of many communities. Viewed as abstract elements, and not so much as dwellings, they often present ready-made compositions even though no one person or group of people actually set out with an intent to create a composition. After years and decades of cumulative effort, something beautiful has emerged, and this is what I am trying to capture.
