Oil painting on gessoed hardboard "Roadside Hills" is a plein-air painting done on Hwy 60, Datil, NM. I starting a painting 2 hrs before sunset which provided interesting shadows & highlights for a landscape. The only obstacles are wind & swarms of flies due to the drought here in New Mexico.
