Beached in Amaifi  

Painted on-site, in Amalfi, Italy I painted this on a rocky beach in the town of Amalfi. I was drawn to this because of the contrasting stripes on the boat cover. Oh!  They're fun. I have such vivid memories of working on this little painting there. The scene had everything, a long view of the distant shoreline, the tumbling sea, and the main character, the striped boat cover on the first boat. That, paired with the orange buoy holding the second boat just made it an ideal set up for a painting.
