Breakfast

A few years ago I took a painting trip to Manitowoc, Wisconsin in February. I went specifically to paint mounds and mounds of snow and to learn from nature what colors reflect on and into it on different kinds of days. I took a snap of this farm from a long distance away as we were driving. Something about the initial shapes of the buildings and silos attracted me to the scene. Even though the photo itself is blurry and the day it was taken quite gray, my snow studies helped me create this studio painting.
