Shadow Side of Winter

An oil created on 4 panels on location in North Idaho. Great challenge doing plein air this large, for the light is constantly changing, and it gives me a wide range of drama to capture, thru values and focus! And also a lot of Freedom > Brush stroke is very important to me, in all art, especially with plein air landscapes...allowing the simplest strokes to carry the energy and passion I feel for the subject!
