“Tribute to Beloved Narcissist” is a colour pencil drawing that discusses the psychological dangers of de-spiritualisation and amorality. A narcissist is defined as “a person who has an excessive interest in or admiration of themselves”. People’s perception tends to agree with this definition. In the age of social media and readily accessible information, such terms can circulate with little certainty. The indications of being self-reliant and independent can be seen as falling out of favour in an age where collectivism as an idea is fading while new technologies continue to enhance our lives and allow for increasingly instant gratification. This piece is an exploration of this construction and my own experience in today's social climate.
