Before the Party

"Before the Party" is a painting I created after bringing in sunflowers from my sister's garden. We were placing them in her sink and when I stepped back, I was enthralled by the beauty of the light and the different heights of the flowers provided by the depth of the sink. I felt like this casual display of flowers and random tomatoes on the counter encapsulated the feeling of life before a party.
