Me and My Shadow

This is a painting based on a photo/video I took while out on a walk in a nearby park. The soft pastel painting has been created using UART dark paper which is a black sanded paper. I was struck by the contrast of the blue reflected shadows and snow against the rich golds of the field. I tried to create texture in the painting through my mark making and having the dark of the paper peek through in places.
