Original Oil painting painted from view around my house on Catalina Island, CA. Part of a one year commitment to living and painting on the island while I work as a director of mental health at the Catalina Island Medical Center. My first entry on Art Call since subscribing to Plein Air magazine. I love the light in the afternoons in the canyon with the eucalyptus lining the old street. This is a beloved walk for many of the locals every evening. This piece was painted last month and is now being framed and will hang for sale at the Catalina Island Medical Center in the lobby to give joy to the COVID staff.
